Having a girl is so much fun when it comes to doing her hair. Khari has no where near as much hair as Taiden did at this age, but it is still really fun to play around.. Here are a few pics of the things I can do on her hair until it gets longer and until I learn how to cornrow...

Fall Bucket List/Trick or Treating

We had a few different halloween activities this year. I didn't have a halloween party to the disappointment of quite a few people who called me asking when it was. I just wasn't up to it this year! We did go to the trunk or treat that Wendy helped to put together. (Great job Gramzee), and we had an event here Monday at the good ole AmFam office. It was a blast and Heather's idea of the spin wheel was a HIT with all the kids (You mean we get candy AND we get to spin the wheel for a treat!?) After we went home had some pizza then went out in our 'hood for a bit (up around to the hook then down the 2 blocks closest to us.). After we went to my friend Alysha's mom's casa for a little get together. The kids had alot of fun over there. Lil miss Khari thought she was a big girl and tried to jump off the back porch with the older kids. Not such a good idea there missy. She fell of course right as I was walking back out the door to check on here. sigh. No bumps or bruises though and considering she was balancing on the arm/back of the couch last night I don't think it knocked any fear into her! Anywho Halloween was a blast! I'm sad that Khari will probably want to pick her own costume next year so I won't get to plan that out for a year haha. This year we were supposed to be a circus family, but I spent all my free time on the kids costumes so I never got around to making my own. TK was an elephant (had to borrow a head as some of my fabric peices came up missing at the last moment!), Khari was a clown and Dev was the STRONG MAN. I was going to be the ringmaster... I made a promise to myself that next year I will be dressing up. I'm thinking a peacock, but we'll see..

There is to much this kid is doing to put in the sidebar. So I'll sum all of that up and more!

Taiden Taiden Taiden.

     This kid has learned so much new stuff I don't even know where to start. Let's talk about how SMART this kid is. He just picks up on stuff so quickly. One day he was just like what comes after 20? (He's been able to count to 20 for a while now) I said 21 and he was like then 22? And we now count to at least 100 everyday. We will alternate numbers. ie Me-1 TK-2 Me-3 etc. If we don't want to do it with him for the thousandth time he will just count by himself. He could probably count to 200 (just because once you get to a hundred everything is on repeat), but I'm usually done at about 127. He loves colors and animals, everyday we are all a different color and a new animal. Today I was a purple goat. (Funny tidbit, yesterday he said Daddy can't be ducks with us because he farts and people who fart are not allowed to be ducks! He says the funniest things sometimes!) He also taught himself how to write a few letters over the summer. One day we were outside playing with chalk and he just started writing random letters all over. I have never sat down with him and taught him how to write, he just did it one day. He can write, D, T, O, A, I, F, E X or K (they look the same half the time lol), Y, C, N, W, H, L, U, and V.
     He is such a loving little boy. He will just randomly stop what he's doing walk over to someone and say "I love you ____" in just the sweetest little voice then go back to playing. It is so cute when he does that to Khari (even tho half the time she yells NO and pushes him away). He is VERY sensitive. You know how they say how ever you were as a child yours will get you back and then some? Well there is no easy way to say this but BOTH of my kids are crybabies. If you slightly raise your voice at TK he is under the table bawling his eyes out. He likes to say mommy mommy mommy, daddy daddy daddy 500 times in a row so a little WHAT? And he's crying. It's so sad, but hey my mom would ask me why I didn't do the dishes and I was like waaawaaaa I'm the worst daughter ever... So I see where he gets it from! He just wants everyone to be happy with him. He asks me all the time. Are you happy at me? Even if I'm not I always say yes because I just love to see his smile when I say yeah and I wouldn't be able to stand the hurt in his eyes if I ever said no.
     He just loves chocolate milk! Granpa (Van) brings him a jug every week and keeps some at the hook. His go to drink there is orange, but now he asks for Granpa to see if he has some chocolate milk for him.
     He still loves to dance and will break out dancing anywhere if he hears music. He makes up songs about any and everything. Is your shirt blue? Well TK will make up a song about how you're wearing a blue shirt but yesterday you were wearing green and maybe tomorrow you'll wear purple! I love his spunk and spontaneity.
     Some where along the line he has given up all form of caring about where his toys go. The little area in the family room for toys is a hot mess and everything is jumbled together. I don't even look over there for fear of a heart attack. But he is still a clean freak when it comes to other things. Randomly he decided he needs to clean his room everyday (It doesn't really get messy cause he's not in there that much.). When I come home he always shows me that he made his bed and cleaned his room and doesn't it look nice and am I so proud of him?!? (I am) He also likes to wash his hands a billion times a day. {Side story.. Someone (I'm looking at my brothers here) decided that instead of walking to another bathroom in the house or better yet going in the closet and getting a new one, they would just put water in my soap. So TK decided he needed to do that too, with a full bottle. He ruined 2 NEW bottles of B&BW soaps last week and I was not happy. So now he gets to be supervised when washing his hands.}
    He loves spending time at Granma and Granpa's house. Everytime we go he asks if his 'friends' are going to be there (I told him they are his cousins and he said yeah I know, but they are my friends to okay?). He just loves hanging out with them. My mom watches the kids Thursdays and Fridays while I'm at work and I'm glad they get to have that time with just her to bond. Taiden just loves his Nana!
     Taiden is the best big brother. He knows Khari's routine and likes to help get her ready for bed. He always wants us to all read books together in Khari's room at night. He makes sure she is included in things when we play games and such. He gives her hugs when she cries and likes to get in her crib in the mornings (He taught her how to jump on the bed!). He loves her so much and I can't wait to watch them grow up together.
I love my quirky kid. He is the best best best as he would say!

Now hopefully I'll blog more and I won't have to cram 7 months of changes and stuff into a short little post!

Breast Cancer Walk 2011

Yesterday morning we did a five mile walk for Breast Cancer. Here are a few of the pictures we took.

Fall Bucket List; Make Caramel Apples

We checked one more thing off of our Fall Bucket List!!!
Mine and Dev's friends Alysha (My GNO PIC) and Allan came over with their kids last night to make caramel apples. I've never made them before so I was way excited. I googled a caramel sauce recipe and got to work! But with all the distractions of keeping the kids out of the kitchen and trying to take pictures of the process and botched it and put in the cream before the butter. :-( This caused the sugar to like bunch up and clot together. BUT it still tasted great so I figured I'd just try again. Luckily I had JUST enough cream left to give it another go! Got it all nice and started dipping apples, then I got a little on my finger and tasted it. YUCK! It was sooo bitter! ULTIMATE FAIL(I went back to where I found the recipe and others said the same thing. Something about the heat changing the molecules and yadda yadda.) So Dev and Alysha went to the store and bought some caramel lol. The kids were happy because the got to decorate apples TWICE! I tasted the caramel AFTER they were already done so I just rinsed them off and we waited for them to come back with some GOOD caramel lol. In the end it was all good, Alysha said next time we can meet up at her house then Me and Allan get to go to the store to fix whatever she screws up haha.

Fall Bucket List; Make Fall Cookies!!!

Okay now we are caught up on pictures! I decided to do a 'bucket list for Fall'. To help my blog more I will attempt to blog about everything on my list! Here it is.

We checked make fall cookies off our list last week! Although I'm sure we'll make some more in fall shapes! We made Pumpkin Spice Cookies. They were YUMMY.

Houston we have a walker... and piggies

So it looks like we have a walker! Just over the weekend Khari started to take 1-2 steps.. Two days ago we were bribing her for 3-4 now she'll walk across the room bribed still, but she can do it. She falls in this video, but as the other videos I took were really long I decided to post this one. She will also take steps to seemingly nothing. I'm assuming this is just to prove she can do it! TK started his walking journey at a little over 9.5 months so I'm not surprised she is walking at this age I'm just surprised at how fast she is catching on! My girl is so silly. When she stands up she claps and wants us to clap with her (she is the princess so of course we do) and she is SOOO excited to be walking!

Another thing about this girl.. She is a CLIMBER. TK never climbed on anything as a baby besides the stairs.. Khari climbs on the stairs, TK's bed, Felecia's bed, the couch the fireplace, her walker.. Everything really! I'll have to take some pics to post..
I can also put little piggies in her hair! Her hair is pretty long on top, but it's so curly you can't really tell unless I pull it straight.. These are the 2 piggy styles I can do right now..

"Valentine's pictures" I went and got the kids pictures taken about a month ago. Taiden was not having it. They took a total of 2 pictures together and it was almost impossible to get the few of Taiden that we did. Sigh..

Alot of bribing happened that day... Well more like alot of unbribing... Taiden ran out into the store several times and also threw a few fits. Hard to believe looking at the pictures but that's what happened. :-)

So this past Saturday night we went and bought a sewing machine.. Well we got a MAGICAL one! It looks like it turned me in to a Domestic Diva and Dev into a Domestic Devo! (lol) I originally just planned to make a carseat cover, but I didn't have a pattern so I got too much fabric... I don't like wasting things so I've been trying to figure out what else I could use the fabric for...

I made this reversible as well.

I was only able to make one carseat strap thingy because it was Devan's turn on the machine lol.. He is making new pillow covers for the Trailer Van bought.. I made the first one, but then I got caught up in making things for Khari, so he decided to take over that project... I don't have pictures because he took all the finished ones up to the trailer... but when they are all done I will post some pictures!

Khari turned 2 months old on Tuesday... Crazy how time flies.. She is smiling up a storm and talking a lot (as witnessed in yesterday's video). Today we had her check up and she is 11 pounds (54th %) and about 24 inches long (96th %)... Tall and skinny like a certain older brother I know who currently weighs in at about 24.6 pounds.. STILL. Before I know it she'll be rolling over (on purpose) and crawling about... TEAR.

Taiden and Khari had their first bath together this past week.. With two more kids to get bathed each night this was the logical solution...
Taiden thought it was fun and as Khari's bath takes all of 3 minutes I don't think she really noticed he was there...

She does love baths though and she looks at me like this when I take her out... If looks could kill!!!

On a side note here she is talking to her butterflies before her bath this morning... She snorts alot!!!

Aye yi yi... I'm getting pretty bad at this blogging thing... I don't even know what to write about as I'm typing this... Let's see Taiden is 2 1/2 this month and getting so big. It's amazing what kids do and say... Taiden feels the need to let everyone know that he likes 'Boom boom boom and Yo Gabba Gabba' at least 5 times a day... He's also taken to making up stories that others might call lies lol. But most are just good old imagination.. Just now Devan mentioned Taiden's birthday and how he'll be 3 soon and he came downstairs and told me it's his birthday today and Christian and Nicolette are bringing him a Birthday Cake.. huh? Where did that come from... Silly kid...
Khari is doing good as well.. I can't believe she is 7 weeks old and I will be going back to work in just 2 weeks.. :-( She is starting to smile a lot and talks to us daily. Taiden loves her and shows it by giving her 500 kisses a day, and about 200 hugs. He always wants to take pictures with her and still likes to hang out in her room. (Her rug is uber soft!) When she spits up he yells 'Where is baby Khari's burp cloth?!?". He will throw away diapers, but when you first ask him he tells you he can't cause his hands are dirty haha... yeah... Maybe if I get my butt in gear I will post less random things... Prob won't this week because my nieces are coming for a week tomorrow! I haven't seen them since they visited last summer so we are way excited! I will post pictures for sure... Until them here are some pics of my babes..

Khari Rhyss was born June 17th 2010 at 6:59 AM. She weighed 8p5oz and was a mere 20 inches long! She has tonz of hair according to others. Everyone says she is such a big baby, but she seems so tiny compared to Taiden! He was 8p12oz and 22 inches longs at 41 weeks gestation. I was originally due to go in to have her tomorrow, but the date was moved up. If I would've waited until even tomorrow she would've weighed more than him! I can't imagine if I would've went to 41 weeks again!
So far she is such a good baby. She eats every 3-4 hours already and getting her to wake up to eat includes stripping her down and tickling her a bit. She is so sweet and we are so blessed to have her!

I moved my date up to the 17th. And so.. Khari will be here no later than Thursday! Woo hoo! I go in at 4:30 AM and I think the surgery is scheduled for 6:30 (although this could easily change) I will let everyone know via text or phone once I am in recovery. Only 2 more days!!

Can I just say I am SO done being pregnant? I went to almost 41 weeks with Taiden no problem.. No aches a little bit of swelling it was ALL GOOD. This time.. No such luck. I've taken to sleeping downstairs on the couch or sitting up due to my Round Ligament Pain, and even then without much relief cause I end up flopping onto my side anyways. It takes me a good 5 minutes to roll over NO JOKE. Dana, I don't know how you made it to 42 weeks with Reed. You are my hero. On the other hand I am measuring FOUR weeks ahead. YIKES... With a scheduled date of the 22nd at least I know there is an end in sight... I was actually thinking of asking her to move it to next week at my appointment tomorrow! (which is when she originally wanted to schedule me.) She said the earliest she wanted to do it was the 18th and uhm for personal reasons I don't want that date, so I'm gonna see if I can bully it up a few days.. If not. I'll stick with the 22nd I GUESS.
I'm really hoping Khari decides to come on her own and we can avoid it altogether so I'll be doing buukoo walking this weekend and the treadmill may become my new best friend.
Today I asked Taiden if Khari can come out now and he said no not yet because she is still playing and moving around in my belly. He did say it's okay if she comes tomorrow though haha. We shall see, but I doubt it... But then he said that she has to go bye bye.. Uh oh. I wonder how he is going to react to having a baby in the house ALL THE TIME. I've watched my friends son a few times and he knows to be soft and everything, but I don't know how he'll deal with crying. He woke up Jayshawn yesterday and when he started crying he ran over and was like I'm sorry baby! It was cute, I can just hear him telling Khari to 'shushy your mouth' like he tells the dog... ay yi yi.

Hello people. here am posting nonsence once again. I really should be cleaning my house, but whatever. Can't clean the kitchen, which is the only thing that needs to be done, cause every time I turn around there is another tool or box on the counter so what's the point. We are STILL working on the bathroom. I can't blame Dev though because there are some days when I'm just like sit a watch TV with me it can wait... But being almost 37 weeks pregnant (full term! eek), I just REALLY want to be able to take a bath haha.. He did get the shower sealed today and is almost done with the sink tiles so hopefully it'll be done done this week. Aww who am I kidding.. it BETTER be done done this week! I am so sick of living in a construction zone... I sweep and mop and by the time I fold a load of laundry it looks like I haven't done a thing... there are either tracks of grout and dirt or white powder covering the whole house haha.
I must admit I am SO SO SO SO happy that Dev can do all this handy work and we don't have to shell out money to someone else! The tile place ran out of the tile we needed for the counter top (we just needed one more piece!) and Dev figured out how to bull-nose it himself so now we don't have to pay them 10 extra bucks, plus the tile price, (for ONE tile) to make one for us.. Thanks babe!
On the Taiden front.. he is getting smarter and smarter everyday.. In good and bad ways... When we ask him to do something it is always followed by... no YOU do it, or I don't want to. He now tells us he's not tired yet, or he doesn't want to go night night... tough luck Buddha... He is still obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba and we now have about 20 episodes on the DVR... he also has to sleep with his Gabba's looking over him every night and during nap time. He left them downstairs the other night and woke up at 3 in the morning looking for them.. So I had to stumble downstairs (with my BIG pregnant belly) to go find them.. oh joy.
Let's see.. what else has been going on.. Well my mom wasn't living in UT when I was pregant with Taiden so she wanted to throw me a shower this time. I didn't really want or need one, but I had to let her have her turn so I had a shower on the 16th of this month. I JUST got a SD card for my camera yesterday so as always my sister has the pictures on her camera so I'll have to post them later..
Khari's room is done except for the frames still cause I'm a procrastinator but they are on my agenda for tomorrow. I also want to put a saying on her wall, but can't think of any cute butteryflyish ones so I'm waiting on that.. Suggestions are always welcome! But if she were to come tomorrow (even though she won't be in there for a few months), everything is ready.. clothes washed, swing and playard/bassinet set up, etc... Crazy that she can come at any moment...

On the pregnancy front I'm 36 weeks and 3/4 days pregnant and at my 35 week appt I was measuring 39... Just great! Guess I'm meant to make big babies? I'll admit this pregnancy has been taking it's toll the last few days. It hurts to turn over at night and heck it hurts to just walk. I don't remember feeling this way with Taiden AT ALL and I went to 41 weeks with him... Well I know that I won't get past 40 weeks no matter what as I have a scheduled date of June 22nd and I could even make it sooner if I wanted so there is an end in sight... Although I hope she's done cooking a few weeks sooner than that.

Maybe the next post won't be so boring and I'll include some pictures haha.

So I haven't posted in a LONG time! I'm not sure if I even know how to blog anymore!
Let's see... I'm 30 weeks now and unfortunately haven't taken a picture this week. So maybe next week haha. I found out Friday that I didn't pass my Glucose Screening test by 2 points so I now have to go back and take the 3 hour test sometime this week. :-( I was also told that I'm anemic, but uhm I'm always anemic so duh on their part. But I guess I have to start taking my iron pills again cause the prenatals aren't enough.. In other pregnancy news I'm measuring 33 centimeters at 30 weeks. Not good haha, but my Dr. says I just make big babies... Dang you and your 10 pounds Devan! Hopefully she doesn't get too big though cause I don't want another C-section. So far my Dr. says I'm still okay to do a VBAC, but if I have Gestational Diabetes I'm not sure if she'll still be okay with that. :-( Keeping my fingers crossed though!
In other news...
The weather here has been SO screwy! One day it snows and then the next we're in shorts.. What the heck UT! It has been pretty warm the past few days though and it's supposed to be 80 on Monday. Finally haha. I guess I'll put up some pictures of our last few weeks.
Let's see.. It was about 65 a while back so we took our zoo passes (Thanks Van and Wendy!) and took Taiden to the zoo. I didn't check my camera before we left so I ended up only having space for a few pictures. But here they are.

I didn't take pictures of flying the kite, but a video of me and Felecia trying to get it up in the front yard would be HILARIOUS. We ended up going over to the school and just sitting on the grass while the kite pretty much flew its self.

He wasn't doing it here, but Taiden has taken to licking the dog. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen and he's always coming to us with hair on his tongue. Gross!

I love my Taiden curls.. It takes me about 5 minutes a day to do, but if you ask Devan it takes half an hour... His hair has gotten so long and it's always in his eyes... I know I will not want to take care of this with a new baby and I KNOW his dad will not do it since he doesn't do it now....
I had decided to cut his hair in May before Khari makes her entrance... I need that long so that I can prepare myself for it... I mean who wouldn't love these curls?!?

So I haven't posted any pictures or anything because I couldn't find my camera!!! I originally left it at the Turner's. Then I guess I put it in my pocket and it fell under the seat in my car. But I thought it was still at the Turners so I didn't bother looking for it. Then when I went over they were like camera huh what? And I was all but I left it here! I swear! Well I think I swear.. In the end I said well it's prob in my car so don't bother looking for it. And well that's where it was! (I'm just to lazy to go take it off the charger to post pics now..) Guess I should clean it more often! And let me tell you it is DIRTY. The outside more than the end although I can't say the inside was clean either.. But I just threw a bunch of crap in a bag and now it's sitting on the kitchen table waiting finish being distributed to the correct rooms in the house.. But in the end it will probably all end up back in the car!
Speaking of rooms in the house... We REALLY only have a 3 bedroom house but we're turning it in to a 4 bedroom house because Devan (of all people) doesn't want my sister to move out. So the playroom/computer room is being turned into her room so Khari can have a room upstairs.. At this moment I am sitting at the computer in the LIVING ROOM. U.G.LY. But oh well it isn't forever and I'll get over it. Thinking about it most of my friends and their families have computers in their Living Rooms too! The toys will be in the kids room (Gahh) and some will be the little corner of the Family Room. You think you hate something till you have to get rid of it. I wish we had room to keep the table that is currently there. *sigh*
On a good note! The move should be completed this weekend and we can start getting Khari's room ready! I am ordering her bedroom stuff this weekend if we can make up our minds. We want a hutch, but the two we like don't have the greatest reviews (some good some bad) and I am BIG on reviews let me tell ya. But in the end I'm sure we'll go with one of them! Her room is PROBABLY going to be purple, green, and a blue shade.. Definitely will be butterflies. I've found the CUTEST butterfly decor and I can't wait to do her room, except I can't find bedding! I'll most likely go with pretty simple plain bedding as there will be BUTTERFLIES every where else haha. Devan wants to put a chair rail up like we did in Taiden's room at the old house, and I'm down.. More room for butterflies to flutter! haha Now all I have to do is pick paint colors.. *gulp*

Okay so it's been a LONG time since my last real post. Like almost a month! Christmas was freaking awesome with almost the whole Turner clan in town and my mom and brothers here for the first time in probably like 8 years (no joke). I can't post any pictures right now cause I keep leaving my camera at Van and Wendy's lol. Taiden had a blast though, but thought he needed to take EVERY LITTLE PIECE of wrapping paper off of EVERY SINGLE gift. He admittedly got spoiled this year as I take Christmas as a time to buy a bunch of clothes another size up since it's so close to his birthday. Let's see I think his favorite thing is his easel (15 freaking bucks at Ikea vs. 15 billion anywhere else) and his legos(the kid is almost 2 and he's never had legos before... What the french toast?)!
He had a blast with his cousins even though his sharing skills are a little rusty (even though my two neices are at my house 5 days out of the week). And we can't wait to see the Cali Turners (that's what we call them at our house) again this summer hopefully!
As most know there will be 3 grandkids so far this year! Natalie is due the end of March and Lesley and I are both due the end of June. A day apart actually! We are going to hopefully find out what we're having tomorrow!!! So with that said.. What does everyone think we are going to have?

We're expecting! I'm due June 24th and we find out the sex hopefully January 7th which is our 5 year anniversary... Xmas was great and I'll post pictures later, but it's 12 am and I don't even know what I'm doing up right now!

I can't believe it's December already! It feels like just yesterday we were going Trick-or-Treating! It has snowed again here in Utah which is not a surprise at all, but I still hate it. It's cold and cold and mostly it's COLD! Driving in it sucks, but playing in it is fun.. Taiden hasn't really gotten to explore the snow much yet as I still haven't gotten him any snow boots! I haven't been able to find any I like because they forget about the boys and make all the cute stuff for girls! BOO. We put our tree up Thanksgiving day and although it's been fine the past THREE years.. This year it was too bare for Devan (only cause my mom said so first!), so we threw some ribbon on it haha. Chip made me a ribbon for a wreath I'm making, but in the end I just threw that on the tree too.. Looks kinda weird, but oh well!

Devan got a little clicker that we can turn on the tree, nativity scene and Santa Clause thing with and I really think it's the highlight of Taiden's day to turn them on at night! He makes sure they are all on and points at them and yells Yay!!!

Taiden has somehow learned to count to 10... We weren't trying to teach him at all.... One day I woke up to him going eight... nine.. ten.. yay! We do have a book that we read that counts to ten so I'm assuming that's where he picked it up. He can count all the way to ten all by himself.. YAY TAIDEN! (what he says when he's done) He can also say his alphabet up to I then if you say J he'll continue to M... This kid picks up EVERYTHING... Including the word shut up... I guess we weren't watching what we say as well as we thought because yesterday at church he told my brother and sister SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! We couldn't help but to laugh, but I have warned them they need to watch it! (And myself of course I can't place all the blame on them!)

Another thing Taiden has picked up is WHY. Taiden let's go to bed... WHY?!? Because it's night night time.. WHY?!? Because you need to sleep... WHY?!? Because I said... OKAY!!! So now I just say because I said for almost everything.. It's the quickest way to get him to stop asking WHY?!? The down side is that if I ask him why he did something he now says... you guessed it... CAUSE!!! Oh boy... He's not even two yet... We are in for it this next year that is for sure!

We JUST got done raking up the BILLIONS of leaves from our front and back yards when what do ya know.. It snows! And just so you know we just got out of the car and the garage was open so Taiden took off outside.. He did have gloves on but he took them off as soon as we got IN the car lol..

Month Twenty

Taiden Taiden,
You are 20 months old! Only four (FOUR) months until you are two!! This year is FLYING by so fast. I didn't write you a 18 or 19 month letter so this will be a mixture..
We had a lot of fun this Summer...
You played in the fountain at liberty park when your cousins Jesalana and Jairiana came for a week in July. You had so much fun with them and you would look for them every morning for a week after they left. We went to the library, the park, and raging waters while they were here. It's a lot harder to keep older kids busy let me tell you!
You had 'swim lessons' also. They were more to get you used to the water, and although you didn't like most of the activities we did, I think it actually worked. At the beginning of the summer you wouldn't even go shin deep into the water... By the end you were walking out so far I had to go get you because you didn't stop!
We never really played 'catch' before, but you had a blast when we started. You've always liked to throw things so you thought this was even better because you were ALLOWED to throw.
Grandma, DD and Shawnie moved back to UT this summer and Simone came to visit. You immediately attached yourself to Shawnie and I think it hurt Simone's feelings because you loved her last year and you wouldn't touch her this year. By the time she left you were just warming up to her. I think she's going to visit more after this. It took you a while to warm up to DD, but you love him now. I think your faovirte thing to do with him is play 'tackle'... Meaning you attack him! :-) As far as Grandma goes... She kind of messed that up in the beginning when she insisted on braiding your hair! You hate getting it done, but you won't stay out of the mirror afterwards. Now you love her just as much as you love everyone else. You even call her Ma because that's what everyone around you calls her.. It's pretty funny because you usually yell it to get her attention (just like me!).
We went to the zoo twice this year and I think you had fun. I can't wait till next year when you can say more than your versions of elephant, tiger, and dook (look)!
We went camping with the whole family and you had a ton of fun. You loved throwing rocks into the creek and you even made a little chipmunk friend. Sleeping with you in the bed reminded me of why I was so against co-sleeping. Getting kicked in the face is NO FUN. But at least I was being kicked by cute toes... even stinky ones...
Fall is here now and I'm looking forward to all the fun activities we'll get to do this season.. Play in the leaves, go trick or treating and all the things I'm going to need to come up with for indoor play!

You're getting so big so quick I just can't keep up with you anymore.
But I am excited to try!

So I got a reply to my post that I wrote about those CRAZY priced hairbow holders... WOW is all I can say... So I went back to her site to look at them again.. AND I found that she also sells ONE alligator clip with 4-5 inches of ribbon glued on to them for dun dun dun... 2 bucks! I bought a box of 100 clips for like 5 dollars at Sally's and depending on the price of the ribbon used.. wow 2 dollars... A dollar each I don't think is such a big deal.. because yeah you have to make a profit and it takes about a minute to make one.. but still... I'm glad I can make things like this myself because I would never buy them for someone else...
She does a beautiful job so I'm not trying to knock her work at all... I'm just stating MY opinion on stuff like this..
She also has clips that it looks like she hand makes and sews out of felt and would be worth the price she asks for them (from someone else). Like I said she does a great job.. I just wish she wouldn't have left me that rude comment so I could tell people about her and get her some more business as she claims I did..
I will however let you know that although I don't have a girl I LOVE to make hair bows and so does my friend Jill.. Check out her blog.. Jillz Bowz

Middle of the night mini rant...

I just saw a site that sells hair bow holders for 70 dollars!! 70 bucks! The worst part is I JUST got home from Walmart and I saw the wooden board thing they used... It costs no more than 5 bucks.. IF THAT.

I just made some for my nieces that really only cost me a dollar since I had everything but the wood already, but including all of the material it would add up to about MAYBE 7 bucks... MAYBE.

Yeah I took off that link because the owner of the site thinks I'm giving her free publicity which yeah I don't want to have my friends waste their money on that when I can make them one that I would not charge 70 dollars for!

Taiden started waking up really early (for us since I haven't been working) about two months ago, I jokingly said he was getting me ready to get a job. Well pretty unexpectedly it turned out to be true! I wasn't REALLY looking for a job. Pretty much just replying to things online. But I randomly heard about a customer service position at Wells Fargo (through Appleone) and decided to go in and ask about it since I was already registered there from a few years back. Well I start Monday. Kind of random since I didn't really prepare myself to go back to work (like 10 months wasn't enough time haha). But well it's really about darn time! The first four weeks are training and I'll be working 40 hour weeks, but after that I'll be working 32 hour week like I was towards the end at Basic. The hours are pretty crappy due to me getting the last shift available, but I'll live.

I've never really used this blog as a personal blog.. it's been more of a family blog (have I said this before?!), but every so often I'll probably write something random...
Next up.. a RANDOM post about 'Baby names lists'. (Don't get any crazy ideas as it's something I randomly thought of today!)

By the way most of the randoms were added when I couldn't think of a post title and I hate when there are no post titles.

Swim lessons

Me and Taiden started swim lessons today. It's really more of a class to get him used to the water, but it was really fun. I don't have any pictures from today, but I plan on taking Devan or my sister next week so I'll have some then.
He still clung to me neck a little bit, but he had loosened up A LOT by the end of the class. He usually won't go in water up to his knees, but he walked around in water up to his chest today. I was very surprised and proud of my little baby!

My nieces were visiting for a week (while my brother was in Brazil NO FAIR) and we had a blast. It was trying at times, but really they were just being kids and good kids at that. I'm just not used to having a 7 and 9 year old EVERYDAY.
We went to Rage three days, the park 2 days and to the Kearns rec pool one day, the library another... so needless to say we had a very busy week! Taiden loved having them here and has been waking up the past two days looking for them. We really hope they come visit again soon!

The return of Taiden Tuesday?

So I have REALLY been slacking on this blog. No new pictures of Taiden, no monthly letters. Blah. I was looking through my old posts and decided to try and do Taiden Tuesdays again. We'll see how that goes. I really regret stopping.
So here's to no more blog slacking!
And Devan STILL hasn't framed out the square on the wall! Double grr...

Month Seventeen

Taiden Buddha,
You are such a big boy! We re-did your room last month and converted your crib into a toddler bed. You love the bed and your room. You still look around and point to new things in your room. Each morning I wake up to hear pitter patter pitter patter and see you opening my door. At first you would bring EVERY blanket you could find and come climb in bed with mommy and daddy for a few minutes before we would go down to eat breakfast… Now you simply push open the door and point to the stairs.. So much for snuggly time! Occasionally you will close the door behind you and come “lay” with us… By lay I mean kick us in the head and sit on our faces! When you do you will only put up with it for so long before you’re at the door demanding to be let out. Last month you insisted on walking up and down the stairs (with help), but now you insist on doing it yourself!
You are still my skinny butt at 21.8 pounds maybe 22 soaking wet directly after you’ve eaten. You have 8 teeth on the top and 7 on the bottom. The only one you have left to get is your left pointy one ( I can’t think of the name right now). Your hair is past your shoulders when straight and I am sick of hearing about how I need to cut it. I like it, you like to play with it and it’s cute! Pretty soon I want to braid it, but it’ll be my first attempt and although I don’t care what people think I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings when I get mad at their comments… I’m sure you’ll be grateful that I won’t be combing it everyday!
Rage this year has been fun so far. You don’t like the water nearly as much as you did last year and you are content to play in the VERY shallow part of the Wave Pool. You just find leaves and sticks and such to throw into the water. When Eliza and Walker are with us you will sometimes chase them into deeper water, but you still won’t go past your knees! When we take you into deeper water you cling to our necks and bury your head (I have scars to prove it). I will be taking you to swim lessons next month to get you used to the water.
At the park you’ve learned to go around instead of trying to climb back up the slides (darn older kids!) The slide WAS your all time favorite at the park for awhile, but now you’ve moved onto the swings! You run straight for them and hang onto it until I put you on one. If I let you slow down or stop you will attempt to swing yourself and rock back and forth.
You still clean up pretty good when prompted, but you like to destroy things even more! You dump out every bin in the playroom and throw all of the balls out of the ball pit before deciding to play with your cars (every time). You love to do your shapes puzzle, but you pretty much ignore your animal ones. When cleaning up you place things in the wrong bin purposely then look at me to see my reaction before placing the toys in the right place. It is pretty funny when you don’t do it with every single toy.
You like to help get your self dressed and if I put your shirt on your head you can pull it down and put your arms through the holes. You also like to be standing up when I put your pants on. We kind of started potty training 2 weeks ago. You’ve went pee on the potty several times, but we’re taking a break when your cousins come in a few days and we will start again after they leave.
You aren’t the serious baby you were this time last year. You love to laugh and you do all kinds of crazy stuff. You will smack your bum if asked to, and you like to honk peoples noses. You LOVE to tickle people, almost as much as you love to be tickled. You like to jump/fall of the couch and get back up and do it again.
